Just added to the 'bio' section is part one of the early years memories of former S&PJ manager Tom McCluskey. Thanks Tom.

Tom McCluskey who managed Sophie & Peter Johnston in their early days has, for the first time in many years, recently been in touch with Pete. His correspondence & Pete's reply will be published here in the 'Bio' section shortly. He has also kindly offered to give an account of his recollections of the early formative S&PJ times which, hopefully, will also be appearing here before too long.

Sophie has agreed to do an interview for posting on the site but due to an email problem this has unfortunately been slightly delayed, however it will be appearing in the next couple of weeks.

Apologies in advance to anyone who puts in a cd order during the week 20th-27th October - there will be a slight delay in response since I'll be away with the family in the Yorkshire Dales for the week. However I will deal with any cd orders as soon as we return. - Pete

I've just found again, when I was going through some old papers, a note from John Peel which was in reply to a demo tape I sent him in either 1981 or 1982. The demo cassette was of a guitar band called 'One Word' with Sophie on vocals, my brother Tim on drums and me (Pete) on guitar & bass. This was before synthesisers came into the picture. You can see and read it on the 'Photos' page of this site. His encouragement meant a huge amount to us at the time.

Peter Johnston is currently putting the finishing touches to 3 CDs which will contain most of the material that S&PJ ever recorded. A lot of the songs only existed on 20 odd year old cassette tapes but many have survived fairly well.
